Feedback from Melanie Whitehead
Here is the feedback from are product by Melanie Whitehead, I feel that she gave us some good feedback in the sense that she stated the obvious. She says that the edits could have been sharpened and comments on the camera work, now I agree with this to an extent, I know it's not perfect, however with only 2 sessions to film and having only spoken to the drama group once their was only so much we could do. When we first met them they was very theatrical which was a huge issue as we had to make it look like something that belonged onscreen.

Evaluation - On Client Feedback
Here we have highlighted the key points from the feedback we received from Sam during the editing process of our work.

From reviewing this feedback during the editing process we agreed with most parts, we already knew these issues existed just for a first draft we had little time to work on it so a rough copy was sent off. When we resumed work we changed a fair amount to give it an extra boost. We worked on the audio as we was aware the John had said a his line ''Romans, make way'' too loud, we made an attempt to correct this by lowering the audio however this could only fix some of it as the damage had already been done which meant it would never sound perfect and you would still hear a pierce in the audio recording.
With the overlay at the end of Tamora we simply fixed by re-framing the overlay, it was fairly simple and once done it looked excellent, it gave across a stronger effect than before and looked professional.
The other issues were to do with cutting and replacing or re-arranging certain shots, this was an issue we was fully aware of and had continued to work on whilst Sam looked over the copy we had sent it, this was mainly down to the limited time we had on the project at the start and by the end it was mostly fixed, there was still some shots that could of been improved however it the final version worked well especially for the time we had and how we had never worked with this drama academy before.
Here is a questionnaire we had filled out by one of the clients .
The feedback from this was mostly positive as he client was really pleased with what we had done as shown below. The only criticism we received was about the start, this is because and agree with this, the framing is off and it isn't clear who the main characters are, I fully agree with the comments made on this and if given more time I would of really liked to of re-shot those shots, from seeing the rest of extract it is obvious this is are weakest point. On the day of filming we was pushed for time as we had a lot to sort out so it turned into just getting the shots done and not being able to look at them in detail which was a huge shame.
The other feedback we received however was of high praise which was pleasing to see as my group worked hard on this project. I agree especially with what she said about the location, we chose it as we knew it would give off this effect so to see the client liking it is pleasing to hear.

Evaluation-Based on feedback from others
From reviewing the feedback from others, it seemed that the majority of the people did enjoy the editing and camerawork, they seemed to think that it worked well and look to a professional standard. A lot of the did also mention the cutaways at the start of the extract saying that they worked well also as it was a good way to keep the audience interested, however they did note that they would of liked more cutaways during the long speeches because after a while they became slightly less interesting, they also added that a few more different angles for these speeches by Tamora would of looked a lot better and more professional.
We had a few people that said the extract was hard to understand, this I can agree with to an extent, I admit it is hard to understand a Shakespeare play if you have little knowledge of his work and because this is only an extract you are only shown a small part of it. However I feel that the actors explained the story well enough they should of got a decent idea of what was going on and also as the story progressed it was clear in my opinion as to what was going on.
I do not agree with the comments that said the park looked outdated, I feel it worked really well to build the atmosphere as it was in a very secluded area with tree circling the outsides to block the view of others from seeing what was going on, also the fact it was up a steep hill did add to the effect that this was not a safe place to be in which was helped by the weather at the time.
The audience did seem to enjoy the soundtrack as they felt it helped build the atmosphere and tension, they also said it wouldn't of been the same without it. I strongly agree with these comments, I feel the choice in sound was one of the key parts in the extract as it on top of what they said, it also helped separate the different parts in time that we filmed. The cuts would sometimes cut to the beat when it seem appropriate which looked really good and the audience seem to enjoy. The soundtrack gave it a strong professional feel, my only objection to it would be how the the soundtrack carried on throughout the extract, I feel during the soundtrack should of faded out looking back or changed as after a while I did find it to be less interesting and started to drag on.
The audience also had an issue with the sound quality from what was recorded, this could not of been avoided though as we was on a very short schedule which meant we had little time to re-film parts and also their was one actor who raised his voice to loud which caused an issue with the mic which made it sounded strained.
The audience enjoyed the start and ending, they thought that it concluded really well and the way the opening was set up had a great effect, I agree with this, I feel the start was key to get right as it would be the first one shown so it had to make a strong impression. The build up worked really well as we not shown any close ups of the characters but understand their moving as a unit with prisoners so we get the feeling something big has happened which has worked really well.
The final point that was raised were the costumes, now this I give some understanding too as I did not expect everyone to go out and buy new clothes just for this, I felt the actors look the part however only to an extent, it did look like minimal effort was put into the costumes and I feel that if they had considered it more then the final product would of looked greater, I can see how the costumes could
be easily confused by the audience as they didn't make people stand out as to who they were.
When it came to the framing be off as some people said I agree but only at certain parts, I feel overall it looked good, however with the part were Abby was pushed to the floor the framing is very amateurish but due to the shortness of time there is little we could of done as we needed to get all of it finished on that day which meant there was little time to make everything look perfect.
