By planning out what props and costumes would be needed, I was able to get them to fit the genre, because I was doing a song in the pop/soul genre, I needed a costume that would reflect this well, to decide on what would be needed, I looked at the artist John Newman, he often appears in music videos with a opened blazer along with black trousers, I used this look for my music video as I knew if I was to follow convention, I would help establish myself and also would fit the genre. By wearing these clothes also I was able to become identified by the audience for what I represented. I also wanted to look as if this was a live performance recording, to do this I included a mic in the performance as a prop, this added to the creativity and fitted in well.
