Props and Costume

Here is the planning that we produced when deciding what the characters should wear and any props that they should use in the sequence.

We want the costume to give of a strong indication as to where these two groups of people come from, ideally we want them to look very stereotypical so that the audience knows straight away what their type of character is. We don't want the characters to directly tell the audience, but to work it out for themselves which shouldn't be too hard. The two sides will be the goths, who will wear typical goth clothing, and the chavy gang members who will wear items such as track suits bottoms and hoodies. These two groups of people don't often get on in real life, so this should be a good match up of people in the product.

For the props, we will use either rope of plastic cable wraps, this will be used to keep the prisoners from running away and make them look vulnerable. I feel this will look a lot more modern and believable than if we was to use rope so it should come of looking a lot better. For the weapons, the two guards will use metal baseball bats, we will not be using a gun as a prop as it would be too risky to use a real one with the actors, and finally the bats would look a lot more realistic as a weapon in England since hand guns are illegal so it wouldn't make sense how they came into possession with them.
